Grizzlies and Birthdays and Denny's! Oh my!

The following events take place between 6:30pm and 5:30am on January 22/23, 2010.

H
ow 'bout them Grizzlies! Went to the game with some friends and saw the Memphis Grizzlies post their 10th home win in a row (1 of only 4 teams to have a streak like that this season). During the 2nd quarter, ex-mayor Willie Herenton sat down next to us.

Before and after the game, spent some time on Beale Street to check out some of the International Blues Challenge.

Tonight was also birthday night for my friends Amy and Chelsea! We met up at The Flying Saucer and awaited their arrival, while catching up with the many friends that were there. I also had pocketed one of the large yellow streamers from the FedExForum after the win and decided to toss that on the birthday girls.

I also captured a rare picture of Paul stalking his prey... the infamous Nuh-Uh girl. As the Nuh-Uh girl devours a defenseless french fry, Paul takes aim and carefully fires his digital cannon! A burst of light and a shot rings out, and the Nuh-Uh girl stops just millimeters from the complete death of said french fry.

After celebrating there, we headed to Bardog for a brief stop as a 30 minute wait at the bar to get served then told they were closing in 5 minutes once we sat down, just was a buzzkill to the night we didn't need. We left and got much faster service at the less touristy Green Beetle. They did stop serving my favorite "after drinking too much" food, fried okra, so we headed back north and had a great meal at Denny's! I hadn't eaten at a Denny's since attending one of Seattle's best concert festivals, EndFest, years ago. I must say it hit the spot and may deserve it's own blog? Hmmm......

To be continued...
