East End of Beale & Peabody Rooftop

Well they did it again! It was another great Thursday on the rooftop. But of course...first there was a pre-event!!

There are several new places on the east end of Beale Street, so they all banded together to have one big grand opening party. MPACT was a sponsor and for five dollars (to support the group), you got admittance to the clubs, a double wine tasting, and tours of the old Daisy Theater and the Handy House. Wine tasting? Sounds good to me! I started there (skipping the free food from the Red Rooster, but I heard it was good), then went to the Daisy. It was a very cool two level place, with music memorabilia all over the walls. With bars upstairs and down and a large stage, it would be a very cool Memphis-y place to have an event.

Live music played outside several venues, wine tasting, hanging with Beale St rep Ken Hall.

The outside of the old Daisy, memorabilia lines the walls, the view from the front door.

The view from the second floor, more memorabilia.

Back on Beale, I grabbed my second wine taste and went to check out the Handy House. Small and unassuming, it helps tell the story of a music legend. After signing up for various giveaways (cross your fingers), it was time to head to the Peabody!

The Handy House front gate and view from the front complete with live music.

Posing in front of the new Red Rooster, beautiful sunset down Beale.

With it being the second week and a slightly less popular band, the line was extremely short for the elevators. We only had to wait about 4 minutes! The party was in full swing when we arrived, with a nice sized crowd drinking and dancing to the dj. In the VIP area, I grabbed a beer and food. I also checked out the huge nacho bar available to all party-goers :-)

Then Rhoney G took the stage. Playing covers of R&B and rap songs, he put on quite an energetic show! Everyone seemed to have a great time! And even better - waiting in line for a drink did not take long at all this week! The Peabody has done a great job making small improvements everywhere. Time to do it all again tomorrow night! Party Planet is the band. Doors open at 6, ladies free til 7. See you there!

Jonathan and Kelly of the Peabody PR team have done a great job with the rooftop parties, my nacho bar salad.

Hanging with Esther in VIP, Rhoney G entertains the crowd.
