Last night was another Ghost River filled evening that started with the South Main Association meeting, featuring the great beers made at Ghost River Brewery, along with some incredible appetizers from Bosco's. Loved the shrimp and grits!
I had fun catching up with Aimee, Chris and Joe and hearing about their "road side rescue" party / canoe trip (long story). ;-)
The meeting discussed some upcoming events in the area, including the Blues Foundation and the new 2010 Blues Music Award featuring Buddy Guy. Buddy Guy will also receive the Blues Foundation's Lifetime Achievement award on May 6th, 2010 at the 31st Blues Music Awards. And finally, Chris announces the season premiere of the Memphis Farmers Market on April 17th! They're also on Twitter! You can follow them here: http://twitter.com/mfmfarmersmkt
Some of the SMA members were at City Council petitioning to get the two ordinances passed to stop aggressive panhandling and the panhandling one passed (the single beer sell ordinance is delayed a few weeks)! Just as we were leaving, Carol and gang showed up ready for some celebratory food and beer! More about the ordinances can be found at http://www.downtownmemphis.com/legislation/
After the meeting, I met up with some friends at AutoZone Park and of course had to get the "Home Run Red" served up by Ghost River Brewery.
