Ever since moving downtown, one staple of the downtown scene is the annual private birthday party thrown by the birthday boy himself, Kris Kourdevalis and his wonderful girlfriend Sharon at their home (yes, home), The Warehouse. Kris is one of the most generous and friendliest guys you'll ever meet and is really in touch with the Memphis Music scene, local politics, etc. and most importantly, REALLY knows how to throw a party! ;-)
When my wife and I arrived at Kris' 50th Birthday Bash, I met up with some friends then saw that a show was about to take place on a stage out back. Fire dancers!!!!
The birthday bash included some outstanding musical guests that rocked The Warehouse and got the crowd dancing throughout the night.
It started with The Bar-Kays
continued with Jason D. Williams
and concluded with a celebratory toast and concert by Al Kapone with guest appearance by Muck Sticky!
While Kris' birthday bashes are known for great musical guests and other surprises, they are also known for featuring some great Memphis food and this one did not disappoint. BBQ, corn dogs, beer, beer, cash bar, beer, beer and cake.
We had a great time hanging out with friends, meeting new people and dancing the night away. I met a few people from Illinois where Kris is originally from as well as some people from Austin, Texas who were friends helping out with the party.
Happy Birthday Kris!!!!
